Royal Enfield has introduced the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 in India for Rs. 3.59 Lakh. This 650 cc motorcycle shares many similarities with the Super Meteor 650 and is powered by the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine.

After making its global debut in the United States a few weeks ago, the Shotgun 650 has now been launched in India by Royal Enfield. At the MotoVerse 2023 event, the Chennai-based manufacturer revealed a limited factory custom version of the Shotgun 650. Shortly after, the mass-produced Shotgun made its world premiere.

The starting price for the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 in India is Rs. 3,59,430 for the Sheetmetal Grey color. The Green Drill and Plasma Blue colors are priced at Rs. 3,70,138. The range-topping Stencil White color scheme comes for Rs. 3,73,000. Comparatively, the top-end model is around Rs. 21,000 cheaper than the Celestial variant of the Super Meteor 650 cruiser.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is priced around Rs. 4,000 lower than the entry-level SM650. The Green Drill and Plasma Blue variants are Rs. 9,000 more affordable than the Interstellar trim of the Super Meteor. In terms of pricing, the SG650 sits above the Interceptor 650. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is equipped with a familiar 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 47 PS and a peak torque of 52.3 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed transmission with a standard slipper and assist clutch. The braking system consists of front and rear disc brakes with a dual-channel ABS.

The Shotgun 650 comes with USD front forks and twin-sided rear shock absorbers. While the frame, semi-digital instrument console with Tripper Navigation, engine, and transmission are shared with the Super Meteor 650, the Shotgun 650 features a brand-new larger fuel tank with a capacity of 13.8 liters. Furthermore, its body panels have also been redesigned.
